Course Outline for Diploma, Bachelor and Doctorate Degrees in Acupuncture
Diploma in Acupuncture (D.Ac.)
Duration of Course : Six Months,(One Month -only for Foreign Students) Eligibility : Undergraduates or post graduates of Allopathy, Ayurveda, Unnani ,Naturopathy or Homoeopathy and graduates of Bachelor of Science in Biology, and Physiotherapists.
Examination Format
Clinical Examination - 30min (40/100) Viva Voce - 10min (10/100) Theory (M.C.Q) - 120min(50/100)
A 50% mark is necessary to pass the examination. Failure to obtain 50% in the clinical examination is considered as a failure.
Post Graduate Diploma in Acupuncture.( PG.D.Ac.)
Duration of Course : One Year Eligibility : Successful Candidates of D.Ac
Course Contents :
Traditional Chinese Medicine Pathology, Traditional Chinese diagnostic Methods, Principles of energy transfer in therapeutics ,The great law of Bu and Xie, Traditional laws of acupuncture in therapy, Systematic therapy- Modern method, Ancillary Methods, Traditional ChineseTherapeutics, Clinical Orientation ,
Examination Format
Clinical Examination 40 min. for history taking, examination, diagnosis and management plan.(Diagnosis should be both of modern method as well as the traditional method) - 20min. for discussion. (50/100)

Paper 1 (60 Multiple Choice Questions) 180 min. (20/100) Paper 2 (06 Structured Essay Questions) 180 min. (20/100)

Bachelor of Medicine in Acupuncture B.Ac.M.S.
Duration of Course : Three Years and Internship Six Months. Eligibility : Diploma in Acupuncture
Course Contents :
A). Human Anatomy, Histology, Embryology and Human Genetics, Bio Chemistry,Physiology.
Examination Format :
1. Two hour M.C.Q paper( 40 questions) 2. Three hour Essay paper 3. Viva Voce ( 15min.)
B). Microbiology, Medical Parasitology, Community Medicine, Pathology.
Examination Format :
1. Two hour M.C.Q paper( 40 questions) 2. Three hour Essay paper, 3. Viva Voce ( 15min.)
C). Acupuncture (I)-
History of acupuncture, Scientific basis of acupuncture, Materials and Techniques, Sterilization of needles and care of needles, Methods of locating acupuncture points, Posture of patients and methods of puncture, Stimulation and Needling sensation, Gate control theory of pain, Physiological effects of acupuncture, Complications and contraindications to acupuncture, Anatomy of acupuncture, yin and yang and zang fu organs, Zang fu functions, Channels, Extraordinary points, Unnumbered extra-ordinary points, Prohibited points and Dangerous points, Principles of selection of points by modern method.
Acupuncture (II)- Traditional Chinese Medicine Pathology, Traditional Chinese diagnostic Methods, Principles of energy transfer in therapeutics ,The great law of Bu and Xie, Traditional laws of acupuncture in therapy,
